Leadership | Strategy | Finance | Technology

I see technology, finance, and management as powerful tools for improving how businesses operate. When used together thoughtfully, they can meaningfully increase productivity, strengthen decision-making, and create long-term value.

Throughout my career, I have focused on applying these disciplines in practical ways. At Salem Steel, a mid-market industrial distributor, we increased profitability and enterprise value multiple-fold within two years through a combination of operational discipline and technology-driven improvements. Earlier, at UBS Investment Bank, I led coverage of the technology and business services sectors within the leveraged finance group, contributing to significant growth in revenue and deal activity.

Through Orca Advisory, I am focused on acquiring and operating a business with strong fundamentals and opportunities for growth through operational improvement and technology.

I am particularly interested in companies where thoughtful use of data, automation, and AI can enhance decision-making, efficiency, and long-term value creation.

In parallel, I continue to explore the development of practical technology solutions, including software products that address real-world business problems.

I am also active in the local community as President of Montgomery Emergency Medical Services, a volunteer ambulance organization responding to over 1,600 emergency calls annually.

In addition to leading the organization, I remain active as an EMT, responding to calls and maintaining regular overnight shifts.

Outside of work, I enjoy endurance sports such as triathlons and activities like SCUBA diving, both of which reinforce discipline, resilience, and continuous improvement.

Experience

Over the course of my career, I have worked with more than 80 companies across a range of industries and economic cycles, including both periods of growth and financial stress.

My experience spans investment banking, operating leadership, and advisory roles, with a particular focus on technology and services, as well as industrial distribution, manufacturing, and related sectors.

Education

I studied physics at Middlebury College to develop a rigorous way of thinking. I studied engineering at Dartmouth College to learn how to build. I studied management at The Wharton School to better understand leadership, teams, and how to deploy capital effectively.

I continue to learn, with a particular focus on artificial intelligence, cloud engineering, and practical applications of technology in business.

Activities

I believe strongly in contributing to the community and in continuous personal development. Volunteering keeps me grounded and connected, while endurance sports such as triathlons serve as a reminder that meaningful progress comes through discipline, patience, and persistence.
